Rest of 2004

(August 2004) A couple of days off, so took the opportunity to play a small HFG game with 15mm ACW troops. Had tried a HOTT version for ACW but didn’t like it. HFG gave a really interesting and enjoyable game. Two corps sized armies on a 2ft square board, a narrow won victory for the Rebels (4-3). I really liked the different outcomes such as repulsed and routed and the artillery support mechanism. The –3 for a flank attack makes this the killer move.

Tried playing HOTT-AK47. Seemed to work quite well although didn't finish game. Possibly allow tanks (Knights) and armoured cars (Riders) to use distant shooting?
