Spring 2001

Playing “A House Divided” at the moment. Makes a change to do a board game. This one has nice simple rules.

Finished western town - balustrades and painting. Tried using Milliput to repair the T Rex model. Showed David “Naval Blockade” for him to take to school. Need to try latest version of FMA (new firing system) and “Bastogne to Berlin”.

30th March - Finished SCWaRes game. Drew a King of Hearts and the Pathans ran away! Movement is quite slow but keeps the action on a small playing area. Seems to work best with relatively small forces.

31st March - Experimented with new Bastogne to Berlin rules including supply markers. Worked quite well with an armoured brigade attack in depth taking around 4 game hours (4 turns) to resolve. Made some minor mods but systems seems to work nicely. Availability of supply markers is critical (you can’t attack without them) - must be scenario dependant. Need to work them up into a publishable article now.

Early April - set up Salamanca game, using "Volley, Bayonet & Glory". Looks good, Rules seem to work very well.

Easter - laminated TTT sheets. Played a few games to be ready for Salute next week. Must remember it takes 2 hits to lose a Gunnery Point. One or two close results! Salamanca game continued, getting quite interesting. Worked out shopping list for Salute. Spent quite a bit of time sorting out what games I actually have and what needs doing with them - a sort of consolidation exercise. I have about 35 different games!
